Living out where we do, the driveway and the side of the garage get pitch black at night, and I was tired of fumbling around in the dark when getting home late. I grabbed this ALUSSO motion sensor light to replace an old, cheap plastic fixture that finally gave out. The fact that it has a solid aluminum housing and is IP65 waterproof was a big selling point for me, since the weather and canyon winds out here in Idaho can tear up flimsy gear pretty quick.Getting it wired up and mounted to the existing junction box was straightforward. The best feature on this thing, by far, is how customizable it is. You can change both the wattage and the color temperature (from a warm 3000K up to a bright, daylight 6500K), so you aren't stuck with a harsh, blinding security light if you just want a warmer glow for the patio. The rotatable wall pack design is also incredibly handy—you can physically twist the light bar 360 degrees to aim the beam exactly where you need it, rather than just blasting the side of the house. The motion sensor is sharp and picks up me walking up to the truck instantly without being overly sensitive to every single branch moving in the wind.Overall, it’s a rugged, massive upgrade for your exterior lighting. My only minor complaint is that the switches to adjust the brightness and color temperature are located on the back of the fixture, so you kind of have to figure out your settings before you completely bolt it down to the wall. But once you have it dialed in, it throws a ton of light and feels built to last. It absolutely does the job.
This outdoor motion sensor light is powered by a standard outlet, not solar. It features a multi-brightness sensor and is incredibly easy to use. The installation is straightforward, just like any other light fixture – no unexpected complications!
This nice looking, large, modern motion wall light exceeded my expectations of a replacement light for the side porch. I had to repair some siding that had came loose and decided that it was a great time to upgrade the light fixture since I was taking it down anyway. This light worked perfect and can be set to bright, or medium, or low, plus it has a switch to change have the warmth - color - of the light. It has a better heavier feel than others lights I have used. This motion sensing wall light is large, installs easy, and is a fair price. One big plus to restate is you get to choose the type, brightness, and color of the light. The ability to adjust the light to any angle I want it super nifty, one day I may want some indirect light, and other days I like the light to be a flood light for the yard, this light can do it all.
Very nice, bright, and solidly built light. The materials feel high quality, and the adjustable color temperatures and wattage options are a great touch. You can really customize the brightness and tone for your space. That said, I should’ve read a little more before ordering — this fixture requires a dedicated hardwired power supply, so it’s not something you can just plug in anywhere. It limits where you can install it unless you already have a circuit available or plan to run new wiring.Once installed, though, it works great. The motion sensor and rotation adjustments make it versatile, and the waterproof design feels like it will hold up well outdoors.
I wish the company had tested the product with end users first. The functional design is unusual, but it is not intuitive or user-friendly.To adjust the wattage and light color, users must remove the back of the light fixture to make changes internally, rather than using external buttons. The sensor/timer is clever yet also unintuitive. Additionally, the instructions provided are inadequate and incomplete.I have informed the company about these shortcomings, and they seem eager to address them.I would recommend waiting for the next iteration of the product.
